This custom journey has been designed by Kim & Pete for your traveling enjoyment! You will NOT find this itinerary on any other website! Our trip highlights all of the 5 star destinations that Patagonia has to offer: Los Glaciares National Park (home to Cerro Fitzroy), Torres del Paine National Park (Towers of Paine & the Cuernos) and the Lake District (which features the infamous Futaleufu River, old growth Alerce forests, volcanoes and hot springs)! We will be staying in comfy hosterias along the way & traveling with our South American partners. Our trip will begin in El Calafate, where we will leave the airport & head directly to see the Perito Moreno glacier. We will stay in El Chalten 3 nights with ample time to hike the amazing trails that take us to visit the most amazing granite spires in the Southern Hemisphere: Cerro Torre, Cerro Fitzroy among others! From El Chalten we will drive south toward Puerto Natales where we will have a panoramic hike/view of the peaks of Torres del Paine park. We will hike along the turquoise waters of the Rio Pehoe, which leads us to Puerto Natales for the night. From Natales we will drive to Punta Arenas & hop a short flight north to Puerto Montt and the Lake District of Patagonia. In the Lake District, we will visit Doug Tompkins Nature Reserve, Raft the Futaleufu, soak in hotsprings & climb volcanoes. Our amazing journey will finish in Bariloche, where those who haven't had enough in Patagonia can add on another week based from Peuma Hue on the waters of Lago Guiterrez. Others will fly back to Buenos Aires directly from Bariloche. Do not miss this unique Mountain Spirits adventure!

Portillo and Powder South Heli-Ski

| Summer skiing in South America! This trip includes resort skiing AND helicopter skiing in Chile! Our trip begins in Santiago, where we will acclimatize & ski the resorts of Valle Nevado & La Parva. From Santiago, we will travel to South America's most famous resort, Portillo. Portillo is an amazing experiece...from riding the steep poma lift "Roqa Jacque" which access Portillos steepest runs to relaxing in the pool after skiing. The atmosphere here is heightened by the many World Cup ski teams that train in Portillo during the summers. (Back in his Olympic days, Pete could be found training here in the summers!) Portillo is also a great spot for back-country skiing for those who would like to see more of the area. We tour up to the pass between Chile & Argentina to the "Cristo," a statue of Crist dominating the pass. This area is also populated with soaring Condors. After Portillo, we will heli-ski south of Santiago in the Andes Montanas! Both Kim & Pete will accompany skiers on this trip. E-mail us for more information & prices.... |
